All about 7 Chakras

The Chakras are the energy centres located in the astral body. It runs along the spine, starting at the base and running up towards the top of the head. Chakras play an integral part in achieving your highest state of well being.There are total 7 Chakras and they are as follows:

Root Chakra is also known as Muladhara and is the 1st of the 7 Chakras.

It is located at the base of the spine. Root Chakra is associated with stability, sense of grounding, peace of mind and security.

MANTRA: "LAM"

ELEMENT: EARTH

COLOUR: RED

MUSICAL NOTE: C

Sacral Chakra is also known as Svadhisthana and is the 2nd of the 7 Chakras.

It is linked to aspects of creativity, joy, passion and desires in life.

MANTRA: "VAM"

ELEMENT: WATER

COLOUR: ORANGE

MUSICAL NOTE: D

Solar plexus Chakra is also known as Manipura and is the 3rd of the 7 Chakras.

It is linked to aspects of will power, confidence, effectiveness and strength. And it is located at the navel area.

MANTRA: "RAM"

ELEMENT: FIRE

COLOUR: YELLOW

MUSICAL NOTE: E

Heart Chakra is also known as Anahata and is the 4th of the 7 Chakras.
It represents love, spirituality, compassion and forgiveness.
MANTRA: "YAM"
ELEMENT: AIR
COLOUR: GREEN
MUSICAL NOTE: "F"

Throat Chakra is also known as Vishuddha and is the 5th of the 7 Chakras.

Throat Chakra is located at the throat and is considered to correspond to the thyroid gland.

It is linked to aspects of communication and growth through expression.

COLOUR: BLUE

MUSICAL NOTE: G

Third Eye Chakra is also known as Ajna and is the 6th of the 7 Chakras.

It is located at the space between the eyebrows and is the chakra of intuition, wisdom and the sixth sense.

It is linked to aspects of perception, awareness, insight and visualisation.

ELEMENT: LIGHT

COLOUR: INDIGO/PURPLE

MUSICAL NOTE: "A"

Crown Chakra is also known as Sahasrara and is the 7th of the 7 Chakras.

It is linked to higher consciousness, universal wisdom, bliss and realisation.

This energy centre is located at top of the head.

MANTRA: "AUM" (Pronounced OM)

COLOUR: VIOLET
