How to Use Tingsha Bells in your everyday mindfulness rituals

Tingsha bells are simple but powerful tools. Used intentionally, they can help you set the tone for the day, reset your energy, and clear a space. Below is a practical, everyday-friendly way to work with them rooted in traditional use but adapted for modern life.

Morning Ritual — Set the Tone of the Day

Purpose: Grounding, clarity, intention

How to do it (2–5 minutes):

  1. Sit or stand comfortably. Hold one bell in each hand by the leather strap.

  2. Take one slow breath in through the nose, exhale through the mouth.

  3. Bring the bells together gently so they strike cleanly.

  4. Let the sound ring out fully—don’t rush it.

  5. As the sound fades, silently set an intention:

    • “Today I move with calm and clarity.”

    • “I am focused, open, and protected.”

  6. Ring the bells one or three times, pausing between each strike.

Tip:
One strike = grounding
Three strikes = mind, body, spirit alignment

Energy Healing — Clearing Your Personal Field

Purpose: Release stagnant or heavy energy, emotional reset

How to do it:

  1. Stand or sit upright.

  2. Ring the tingsha once near your heart center.

  3. Slowly move the bells around your body:

    • Head

    • Throat

    • Heart

    • Solar plexus

    • Lower abdomen

  4. Ring once at each point, letting the vibration pass through you.

  5. Visualize the sound breaking up and dissolving dense energy.

When to use this:

  • After difficult conversations

  • When feeling anxious or scattered

  • Before meditation or breathwork

Space Cleansing — Home, Office, or Studio

Purpose: Clear stagnant energy and refresh a space

How to do it:

  1. Start at the entrance of the room.

  2. Ring the tingsha and walk slowly clockwise around the space.

  3. Pay special attention to:

    • Corners

    • Doorways

    • Windows

  4. In heavier-feeling areas, ring the bells twice and pause.

  5. Finish by ringing once in the center of the room.

Set a clear intention aloud or silently:
“This space is cleared of stagnant energy and filled with peace and clarity.”

Why it works:
High-frequency sound breaks up stagnant energy more gently than smoke and is ideal for shared spaces or places where incense isn’t practical.

Transition Ritual — Reset Between Activities

Purpose: Mental clarity, focus shift

Use tingsha bells:

  • Before starting work

  • After finishing work

  • Before journaling, yoga, or sleep

Simple reset:

  • One strike → inhale

  • Sound fades → exhale

  • Begin the next activity

This trains your nervous system to shift states quickly and calmly.

Evening Wind-Down — Closing the Day

Purpose: Release, nervous system calming

  1. Dim the lights.

  2. Ring the bells softly once or twice.

  3. Reflect briefly:

    • What can I let go of today?

  4. Let the final sound fade into silence.

This helps signal to your body that it’s safe to rest.

Find your perfect tingsha bell and begin your everyday ritual now and feel the difference. May your path be filled with clarity, stillness, and sound.
